CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2002 Season
Raced for four teams, beginning with Hendrick Motorsports (first 11 races of season). Filled in for injured Johnny Benson for three races at MBV Motorsports, drove a car owned by Michael Waltrip for one race and competed in 13 races for Petty Enterprises. Missed last five races of season due to injuries – two fractured ribs and separated shoulder – sustained in a go-kart accident. Best finish was eighth at the April Bristol race.

2001 Season
Finished a career best 17th in the final point standings and earned a career high $2,507,827 in prize money. Posted four top five and 10 top-10 finishes. Had the field covered at fall Atlanta race but ran out of fuel on final lap with a four-second lead. Best finish was second at September Dover race.

2000 Season
Ended the season in grand style for Hendrick Motorsports, capturing first career NASCAR Winston Cup victory at season finale at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Finished 20th in final Winston Cup point standings, gaining 14 spots from the year before.

1999 Season
Drove for Melling Racing (22 races) and MB2 Motorsports (12 races). Best finish was fifth at Watkins Glen road course. First million dollar season with prize money of $1,370,229.

1998 Season
Started the year driving for the newly formed Bill Elliott/Dan Marino team. Finished the season with Melling Racing. Third in Rookie of the Year standings.

1997 Season
Made Winston Cup debut June 15th at Michigan International Speedway. Drove four additional Winston Cup races for team owner Richard Jackson after serving as a spotter for the team. Finished second and fourth in ARCA races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Pre-Nextel Cup
Drove five Busch Series races in 1995 and two in 1996. Competed in the 1996 Formula Opel European Series, finishing sixth – the highest ever by an American. Skip Barber Eastern Series Rookie of the Year in 1991 with eight wins, two seconds and one fourth in 12 starts. Won three consecutive World Karting Association Gold Cup Championships (1988-1990) and a Grand National championship in 1991. Began racing karts at the age of four. Finished second in go-kart race on ice in 1992 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
